Local doctor, Dr. Nancy Lefeber Hughes was struck and killed while biking in Galveston in the early morning on March 18th by a young couple. The driver, Logan Llewellyn, 21, was apprehended two days later with an arrest warrant at his residence in an RV park in Seguin, outside of San Antonio. The young woman in the passenger seat at the time of the crash, Cianna Mims, 18, was also charged for failing to report the accident.

Hit and Run-Driver Didn’t Stop

Dr. Hughes died at the scene of the crime and is estimated to have been hit between 6 AM and 6.30 AM by Llewellyn as the couple drove to see the sunrise by the Seawall. After hitting the doctor, the two fled the scene without even stopping to see what had happened. Two bystanders came across the injured doctor and called emergency services for help, but she died before aid could arrive.

Richardson, Texas Driver Arrested For Drunk Driving Following Deadly Crash. Plano Police have arrested and charged a Richardson man with intoxication manslaughter after a deadly crash on January 30.

Angel Velasco, 34, of Richardson, was charged with the crime. According to the police, the tragic accident happened on a Sunday mid-morning at the intersection of Jupiter Rd and E. Plano Pkwy.

Dallas, Texas victim of dog mauling and dog attack. As reported earlier, a Dallas, Texas student who was horrendously mauled and attacked by two dogs, has now returned home after an extensive hospital stay.

Jaqueline Durand, 22, was dog-sitting for a Coppell couple when she was mauled by their two pets, a German Shepherd and a pit bull. The UT Dallas student was hired as a dog sitter for three pets while their owners were out of town. Read the full story here.

Durand suffered multiple catastrophic injuries including the loss of both ears, lips, nose, and the majority of her face, the dog bites missed her carotid artery and she had multiple deep dog bites and lacerations all over her body.
