A hero by definition is a person or thing who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. A villain, on the other hand, doesn’t exemplify these qualities and is, in fact, the antithesis of the hero, and opposes the hero.

Ozempic, a Bitter Pill to Swallow. Knowledgeable folks and users of Ozempic will know right off the bat that Ozempic is a weekly injection and not a pill. So why the title, “Ozempic, a Bitter Pill to Swallow?” because there is no equivalent in modern parlance for the idiom that refers to a bitter injection.

But this is a play on words because a bitter pill to swallow is an expression from the 1600s that refers to something unpleasant or hurtful that is hard to accept. A bitter pill to swallow is the naked truth that people do not want to face but one that cannot be avoided.

Like a pill, it must be swallowed, these unpleasant facts must be taken in. And Ozempic is indeed a bitter pill to swallow, as will be explained later, this idiom is not meant to be taken literally and in fact, its use is both unpleasant and hurtful because of the profound side effects.

California $100M verdict in Middle School sexual abuse lawsuit. A San Jose jury awarded $102.5M to two women, finding that they were repeatedly assaulted by their middle school music teacher over a period of years and that the Union School District failed to intervene in the abuse.

The result was reached on March 30th after the conclusion of a civil trial against Union School District which includes Dartmouth Middle School, where the teacher was employed, and where the assaults took place between 2009 and 2017.

Local Doctor Killed in a Hit and Run while Biking in Galveston

Local doctor, Dr. Nancy Lefeber Hughes was struck and killed while biking in Galveston in the early morning on March 18th by a young couple. The driver, Logan Llewellyn, 21, was apprehended two days later with an arrest warrant at his residence in an RV park in Seguin, outside of San Antonio. The young woman in the passenger seat at the time of the crash, Cianna Mims, 18, was also charged for failing to report the accident.

Hit and Run-Driver Didn’t Stop

Dr. Hughes died at the scene of the crime and is estimated to have been hit between 6 AM and 6.30 AM by Llewellyn as the couple drove to see the sunrise by the Seawall. After hitting the doctor, the two fled the scene without even stopping to see what had happened. Two bystanders came across the injured doctor and called emergency services for help, but she died before aid could arrive.
