Type 2 diabetic patients who used Onglyza and developed heart problems allegedly caused by the diabetes drug will be consolidated in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Kentucky, before U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell.

Xarelto Bleeding Injury $28M Verdict Tossed. What the court giveth, the court taketh away! Such is the capriciousness of the court system.

The first Xarelto Bleeding Injury plaintiff’s victory against Bayer and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) over Xarelto’s bleeding risks was short lived. In the case of Lynn Hartman, Judge Michael Erdos in Philadelphia this week entered a judgment notwithstanding the verdict, stating that a no reasonable jury could have reached the same conclusion.

The judge tanked the verdict after hearing arguments from Johnson & Johnson and it’s Janssen unit and Bayer that a physician for the plaintiff had testified that additional warnings would not have changed her decision to prescribe the drug.

J&J DePuy Pinnacle Metal Hip. On the heels of the latest plaintiff multi-million dollar DePuy hip trial verdict, Johnson & Johnson (J&J), the world’s largest pharmaceutical company and medical device maker, and its DePuy subsidiary were back in federal court again.

J&J DePuy Pinnacle Metal Hip. J&J and its DePuy unit are under fire over allegations involving its Pinnacle/Ultamet line of metal hip devices which are prone to metal poisoning and premature failure according to lawsuits.

J&J and its DePuy unit, which makes the artificial hips, recently argued in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that the verdict should be reversed because there was insufficient evidence that the hips were defectively designed and deceptively marketed.

Invokana Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Invokana Wrongful Death Lawsuit. Loretta Jack recently filed an Invokana wrongful death lawsuit against the makers of the blockbuster type 2 diabetic medication Invokana in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. According to Jack, her husband, Raymond Jack, Sr., died from catastrophic complications from the Invokana drug.

Jack filed the Invokana wrongful death lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson and it’s Janssen Pharmaceutical’s subsidiary, claiming that the Invokana drug caused severe kidney failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and stroke.

According to Jack, her husband took Invokana for treatment of his diabetes in March 2015, and he was hospitalized within a couple of months, developing an acute stroke and kidney failure. He later died from the overwhelming complications from the acute injuries.
